About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Jira Administrator to manage, optimize, and evolve our Jira and Atlassian ecosystem. You will serve as the primary owner of our project management and service management tooling, ensuring it is configured effectively to support the needs of engineering, operations, and business teams across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Jira Administration — Manage day-to-day administration of Jira Software and Jira Service Management, including projects, issue types, workflows, screens, permissions, and notification schemes.
Confluence Administration— Administer Confluence spaces, templates, and permissions; ensure content is well-organized and accessible across teams.
Customization & Automation — Design and implement automation rules, custom workflows, and dashboards that reduce manual effort and improve team visibility.
User Management — Manage user provisioning, groups, roles, and licensing across the Atlassian suite; handle onboarding and offboarding efficiently.
Stakeholder Support — Act as the internal expert for Jira and Confluence; troubleshoot issues, answer queries, and deliver training to new and existing users.
Integrations— Manage and maintain integrations between Jira and other tools (Slack, CI/CD pipelines, monitoring platforms, etc.).
Governance & Best Practices — Define and enforce standards for project structure, naming conventions, and board configurations; keep the instance clean and scalable.
Qualifications & Experience
2+ years of hands-on Jira administration experience (Jira Software and/or Jira Service Management)
Strong understanding of Jira workflows, permission schemes, field configurations, and automation rules
Experience with Confluence administration and space management
Ability to gather requirements from stakeholders and translate them into effective Jira configurations
Familiarity with Agile and ITSM frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, ITIL)
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Good communication skills with the ability to support non-technical users effectively
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Atlassian certification (Jira Administrator, ACP-100, or equivalent)
Experience with ScriptRunner, Groovy scripting, or advanced Jira automation
Familiarity with cloud-based Atlassian products and data center-to-cloud migrations
