About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically strong NOC Engineer to join our global Technology Operations team. The NOC Engineer will ensure the availability, health, and performance of our business-critical network, supporting both on-premises and cloud environments. The role covers proactive monitoring, incident response, documentation, and continuous improvement, working closely with Infrastructure, Security, Service Desk, and Incident Management teams.
Key Responsibilities
Proactive Monitoring & OperationsPr: Ensure 24x7 real-time monitoring of application, network, database, and server events using industry-leading tools (SolarWinds, Cacti, Zabbix, Pingplotter, IsItUp, Networkbench, Guacamole, etc.). Analyze real-time data streams to identify and preemptively address potential issues.
Incident Detection & Triage: Respond to monitoring triggers and alerts, perform Tier 1 troubleshooting, and coordinate with the appropriate resolver group for rapid incident response. Open, track, and escalate tickets for ISP and service-related issues as required.
Reporting & Documentation: Create clear chronological and resolution reports for each incident. Maintain detailed logs of actions taken in line with company policies and best practices.
System Health & Optimization: Support regular provisioning, configuration, and health checks of monitoring systems and tools. Recommend improvements to monitoring coverage and thresholds.
Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with Service Desk, Infrastructure, Security, and Incident Management teams to provide incident updates and handoffs. Ensure clear and timely communication to all stakeholders during outages or major incidents.
Continuous Improvement: Participate in post-incident reviews and contribute to root cause analysis and problem management. Drive efforts to minimize recurring issues and enhance the reliability of production systems.
Knowledge Management: Maintain up-to-date process documentation, monitoring guides, and escalation procedures. Share knowledge with the broader IT Operations team.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a NOC, Systems, or Network Analyst/Engineer role supporting and monitoring large-scale networks, systems, or servers
Strong knowledge of network protocols, OSI model, switching, and internet routing
Hands-on experience with monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Cacti, Zabbix, Pingplotter, IsItUp, and related platforms
Experience with VMware clusters in high-availability settings
Experience troubleshooting Cisco routers, switches, F5 BIG-IP, Palo Alto Firewalls, and other network/security appliances
Understanding of website operations and components (WAN, DNS, SSL certificates, URLs)
Experience documenting work processes, incident reports, and escalations
Good oral and written communication skills
Willingness to work on a 24x7 shifting schedule, including weekends and holidays
PREFERRED SKILLS
Microsoft and/or Cisco certifications (CCNA, MCITP, etc.) or equivalent
Experience with F5, Palo Alto, Fortinet, or similar security appliances
Experience with automation and scripting (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell)
Familiarity with ITIL or similar incident management frameworks
Experience in hybrid cloud/on-premises environments
Experience in B2B and B2C operational environments
