About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Sportsbook Software Architect with strong expertise in sports betting and iGaming platforms to design and evolve scalable, high-performance sportsbook systems. The ideal candidate combines deep sportsbook domain knowledge with strong experience in distributed systems, microservices, real-time processing, and cloud architecture.
Key Responsibilities
Design and evolve end-to-end architecture for sportsbook platforms, including odds feeds, trading, bet placement, settlement, risk, and player management.
Architect high-volume, low-latency systems supporting both pre-match and live betting.
Design integrations with odds providers, trading platforms, content providers, payments, CRM, KYC, and risk systems.
Define scalable microservices, REST/gRPC APIs, event-driven architectures, and real-time data flows.
Ensure reliability, security, observability, fault tolerance, and disaster recovery across critical sportsbook services.
Work closely with Engineering, Product, DevOps, Risk, Compliance, and Operations teams.
Support regulatory and compliance requirements including UKGC, MGA, responsible gambling, audit, and anti-fraud controls.
Guide engineering teams and promote architecture, coding, testing, and DevOps best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
3+ years of experience as a Software/Solution Architect with strong Sportsbook/iGaming experience.
Strong understanding of sportsbook domain and betting lifecycle, including:
Pre-match & live betting
Odds feeds and pricing
Markets and events
Betslip & bet processing
Trading and odds management
Settlement
Player profiling, risk & stake controls
Strong experience with microservices, distributed systems, REST/gRPC, and event-driven architecture.
Experience with technologies such as Java, C#/.NET, Node.js, Go, or similar.
Experience with Kafka/RabbitMQ, SQL/NoSQL databases, and Redis or other caching technologies.
Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, Docker, Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code.
Experience with high-performance, real-time systems and live data/streaming architectures.
Excellent communication, technical leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
Nice to Have
Experience with sportsbook platform migration or modernization.
Knowledge of UKGC/MGA regulatory requirements.
Experience with Terraform, Kubernetes, AWS/GCP architecture, and TOGAF.
