About the Role

As an Applied AI Architect, you will be the trusted technical advisor for how AI gets built and used across Kairostek. Your customers are our own product development squads and business teams. You will help them see where large language models can create real value, and then guide them from first idea to a reliable service running in production.

This is a hands-on role. You will work closely with our Agentics squad, building prototypes and proofs of concept yourself, writing near-production reference code, and designing the evaluation frameworks that tell us whether an AI feature is ready to ship. Alongside that, you will turn what works into reusable blueprints, patterns, and training that every squad can pick up.

Working with Engineering, you will set the architecture, standards, and guardrails for AI, so that teams can move quickly without taking on unmanaged risk.

You will report directly to, and work closely with, our VP of Development & AI. Together you will shape the department's AI strategy and roadmap, decide where to invest, and turn that direction into architecture and delivery across the squads.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with squad leads and stakeholders to understand their problems and translate them into practical AI solutions, keeping business outcomes and technical design aligned

• Act as the primary technical advisor for AI adoption across the department, coordinating across teams to get use cases delivered

• Ship working code: build prototypes and proofs of concept, develop evaluation frameworks, and write reference implementations that squads can take to production

• Design and own the reference architecture for LLM applications and agentic workflows, covering model selection, orchestration, retrieval, tool integration, and deployment

• Guide squads on integrating AI into our existing Java, .NET, Node.js, and React platforms, including APIs, event streams, and tool protocols such as MCP

• Help teams build evaluation frameworks that measure quality, latency, and cost for their specific use cases, and keep them from regressing over time

• Define security, privacy, and governance standards for AI use, including data handling, access control, prompt injection defence, and auditability

• Develop reusable blueprints, demos, and enablement material that scale across squads, and run workshops for engineers and non-technical stakeholders

• Identify common patterns and gaps across use cases and feed them back into our platform, tooling, and vendor decisions

• Stay current with developments in models, agent frameworks, and implementation practice, and bring the useful parts into how we work

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of highly technical experience as a software engineer, solutions architect, or equivalent, with hands-on experience shipping LLM-based applications

• A builder mentality: you have shipped real software, you care about craftsmanship, and you have good technical judgement

• Systems thinking: you would rather build one solution that serves ten teams than ten solutions that each serve one

• Strong coding ability in Python, with regular prototype delivery and experience working in real production codebases

• Practical experience with RAG, vector databases, embeddings, agent orchestration, and common LLM frameworks and tools

• Experience designing scalable cloud architectures (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and integrating with existing enterprise systems

• The ability to build trust with engineers and explain complicated topics clearly to leaders and non-technical teams

• Comfort working in ambiguous, early-stage areas and building structure as you go

• Skill at working across teams, navigating trade-offs and competing priorities

• A teaching and mentoring mindset, and a genuine interest in helping others succeed with AI

• A passion for using AI in ways that are safe, responsible, and beneficial

• Background in iGaming, fintech, payments, or cryptocurrency platforms

• Experience applying AI in regulated environments, with awareness of AML, KYC, GDPR, or PCI-DSS requirements

• Hands-on experience with the Model Context Protocol, coding agents, and AI-assisted software delivery

• Experience with LLMOps tooling, observability for non-deterministic systems, and cost optimisation at scale

• A background in data engineering, ML engineering, or data science
